At its heart, this self-titled album is a straight-ahead and balls-out frenetic onslaught - the album's feel is reflective of Alchemy's live show - you're only given a few seconds to gasp for air in between tracks, before you're thrown back into the fray. But it is also a musical journey with plot twists; with a meandering complexity and melodic tonality. But do not be fooled, in the end this is still a metal band doing metal band things; performing music that is grotesquely ugly and mesmerizingly beautiful. Serenely calm in its focus with violent relentless intent.
