Named after the one of Covenant ships in Halo, "The Divine Transcendence" could easily be a track playing inside Master Chief's comm link, maybe even as an Easter egg in the game's universe.

"Cantata Defect" was the original name of the song, but it was changed due to the musical theme, ambience and obvious game referencing with the guitar melodies. The new title just fit the track.

This is the first of three tracks that employ actual parts with lead guitar work from Bronson and Ryan. The live version has more harmony sections that lend to a live dynamic of the track offered here.

The Divine Transcendence also begins the melodic feel that is present throughout the rest of the album, with the harmonized guitar parts and harmonic minor lead runs in throughout the instrumental.
